We know you have many things to think about when you are starting college. Graduating high school seniors have a variety of scholarships available to help make the transition to the University of Utah.
The University Scholarships Office awards many scholarships to freshman students who begin in the Fall. These scholarships are based on: Merit (previous academic performance), Diversity, and demonstrated financial Need.
Entering freshmen who have submitted a complete admissions application by the December 1st Priority Application Date will automatically be considered for merit scholarships. Entering Freshmen who hope to be considered for need-based scholarships must submit their admission application by Feb 1st, and also submit a FAFSA by the March 1st FAFSA Priority Deadline.
Additional scholarships are available based on college, department, major and other special categories. The application process and deadline for each scholarship will vary.
You may also apply for outside, private scholarships. Many scholarships are listed in online resources, such as FastWeb. Each outside scholarship will have a unique application process and deadline.
